The Bloomfield Police Department sponsors the Citizen's Police Academy, which is designed to give San Juan County residents, business owners and those working in the Bloomfield community, education and working knowledge of the operations of their Police Department. The Citizen’s Police Academy is an exciting opportunity to gather information while providing a behind the scenes look at various functions of the Bloomfield Police Department. The Academy is made up of lectures, interactive discussions and hands-on activities. The Bloomfield Police Department believes an informed citizen is one who is better able to understand decisions made by the Police Department. As a result, the program increases relations between the police and the community.
